Download Chewing IT Remote Support
One quick download lets a Chewing IT engineer see your screen and fix the problem with you — while you watch, on a call, with your permission.
Step 1 — Download the support app
Pick the button for the computer you need help with. It's a small, one-time app — nothing is installed permanently and it only runs when you open it.
When you no longer need support, quit the program. This ensures your computer cannot be remotely accessed again until you run the app and explicitly grant permission.
Step 2 — Open it and call us
Once it's downloaded, follow the short steps for your computer below, then phone us. We'll do the rest with you on the line.
Windows PC
- 1Click Download Support for Windows above and open the file (
SplashtopSOS.exe) — usually found in your Downloads folder or at the bottom of your browser. - 2If Windows shows a security prompt (“Do you want to allow this app to make changes?”), click Yes / Run. This is normal.
- 3A small window opens showing a 9-digit code. Leave it on screen.
- 4Call us and read out that code. We'll connect while you watch.
Mac
- 1Click Download Support for Mac above, then open
SplashtopSOS.dmgand double-click the Splashtop SOS icon. - 2If macOS says it's from the internet, click Open.
- 3The first time, macOS may ask you to allow Screen Recording and Accessibility in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Tick Splashtop SOS so we can see and control the screen — we'll talk you through this on the call if needed.
- 4Read out the 9-digit codeshown in the window and we'll connect.
What happens during a session
- · You'll stay on the phone with the engineer the whole time.
- · You can see everything we do on your screen.
- · You can move the mouse or close the app to take back control at any moment.
- · We'll explain what we're doing as we go.
Your security & privacy
- · Access is one-time and only works while the app is open.
- · Nothing stays running in the background after you quit it.
- · The connection is fully encrypted (Splashtop SOS).
- · We never ask for your passwords — type those yourself if needed.
