The setup
Two Central Coast Kwik Kopy stores running the multi-layered IT typical of a franchise: a national layer for POS, ordering and finance owned by head office, and a local layer for Microsoft 365, store networking, printers, prepress workstations and day-to-day support owned by the local team. Each store manager runs the floor and handles the everyday tech, but the layer in between needed a senior partner with the experience to make sensible calls quickly.
The engagement
Chewing IT slotted in alongside the existing structure — head office kept owning the national systems, the store managers kept running the floor, and we took on the local infrastructure, M365, security baseline, and on-call expertise. The owner's review names the part of co-managed that actually matters: a partner who understands how a small business runs, not just the tech in front of them.
